GREEN LIVING: Going Green With Natural Organic Products

By Phil De Fontenay

Using natural products is not only beneficial for you, but it is also beneficial for our environment. More and more people are starting to realize this, and are looking for as many natural items as they can. Access to this information is much easier than it once was, and is also contributing to the awareness found in the public today.

Of course, it isn't hard to figure out that natural organic products are a better choice for everyone, just by using common sense. When the facts are spelled out in front of you, though, it is just harder to continue putting the artificial, chemically made items in our cabinets.

Many categories can be found for natural products instead of ones that are more commonly purchased. Some of these categories include: Food & Beverage, Household Cleaning , Beauty , Lawn & Garden, Clothing, Pet Supplies & Baby Products.

When you choose to purchase anything under these categories that are not natural organic products, you are introducing many unhealthy things into your system and into the world. Let's take the subject of personal care for an example. Anytime you wash your hair, body, or face with products that are chemically formed, these chemicals are washed down the drain. From there they end up in our water supply, soils, and air supply for everyone to ingest in some way.

The same thing goes for when cleaning the house. These chemicals are usually harsher on the environment. When you use these harmful chemicals, many of them silently seep into your system through your skin and alter hormone levels and other things as well. Some chemically formed products have been linked to causing cancer, too.

When choosing natural organic products, you do need to know that you should always read the back ingredient label instead of trusting the marketing labels on the front. These ingredient lists can tell you the truth of whether or not they really are natural. When you do decide to choose natural as opposed to "un-natural", you are one step closer to a healthier you, and a healthier environment that we all will benefit from for many years to come.
