Many folks are complaining about the intensive bombardment of frequency pollution in our civilization due to WiFi systems, wireless phones, and the latest issue was the TSA scanners you have to walk through to get onto an aircraft. Well, you can't blame people from being concerned about any of this, indeed, it is as if we are experimenting with our entire population without knowing if it's going to be safe long term. What about cancer and other potential diseases?
All something to think about, and yes science needs to learn more about all this, we just do not know enough yet to be experimenting on our entire society in this way. But it gets even worse, because this is just a start. Some folks are considering overcoming the digital divide with a more powerful WiFi system which can be accessed from anywhere in the nation. And if you think you can get away from such things, there will always be a police man somewhere to zap you with his radar - radar guns which are even more pervasive, stronger, and potentially problematic too.
Not long ago, I read a troubling article in one of the science web alerts. According to New Scientist in an article titled; "Police radar can identify suicide bombers," which was published on November, 26, 2010 and it would work something like this; "The radar guns police use to spot speeding motorists fire microwave pulses at a car and measures the Doppler shift of the reflected signal to calculate its velocity; researchers found that the strength and polarization of the reflected signal - the "radar cross section" - can also measure the reflected signal created by the most common arrangements of looped wiring typically used by suicide bombers."
Enough is enough, I say, what about human health, and realize we are talking about human society, Americans, filled with folks who believe in liberty and freedom, not a bunch of terrorists. Such an invasion is very similar to suggesting that all citizens are potential terrorists, therefore, such system is okay to use. I don't believe this is right. Please consider this and email me if you have any comments, questions or concerns.
