CSA's - Community Supported Agriculture by Brittani Lee

It has come to my attention that many people interested in living naturally are completely unaware of CSA's. To be honest I only recently found out about them. They are a fantastic resource for obtaining organically grown produce, meats, eggs, milk and the like. Every farm is different so you have to do some of your own research. My family is vegan so the meat and dairy isn't on our list.

Finding your local CSA is as easy as googling "csa your city and state". You typically pay upfront for the growing season but some farms will allow you to pay on a weekly basis. If you have a smaller family (as I do), you can ask your friends to join you in this venture and split the cost. That way you are spreading the good news and benefits! The CSA will provide you with a box weekly or monthly throughout the growing season. The growing season generally runs from late spring to early Autumn.

Where I live our local CSA has a weekly Sunday lunch so you can go there, check out the farm and have a wonderfully tasty organic meal. They also offer a chance to stay on the farm and work during the growing season. Some even allow children! This is such a wonderful opportunity to support your local farmers, buy locally and provide your family with organically grown nutritious food. I still love my local farmers market, this way you get so much more for your money! I hope you'll check out your local CSA today!

Here's to a healthy natural you!
